Hello!
I was cruising the JCPenney website when I came across this gem:
How beautiful is this dress!? It's the perfect shape (A-line), and the perfect length! Not to mention the lace and the black and champagne color...I'm in awe!
I've been looking for a dress to wear to the Nutcracker Ballet next month (we're going to the 7 o'clock show on the 20th probably). Sara has a tradition where she takes someone who never been so it's my turn! I'm very excited! I've always wanted to go, but never had anyone to go with/take me!
The question is however, is it too dressy? Should I find a black dress instead? Can I wear black hose/tights with this number? Could I put a cardigan of some sort with it? If this dress is in stores, I'll try it on to see if I love it on me. If I do love it, I'll have to wait until next paycheck to purchase!
What do you think, lovelies? I want to hear your thoughts!

I love it! I think it's beautiful. :) It's not too dressy at all! You might be more dressed up than some people, but other people will be even more than you, it just depends.
I don't know if you frequent TJ Maxx, but it's my FAVORITE for dresses. I always find my Christmas dress or a party dress there and it's always under $40. My last steal was a stretch silk-satin Calvin Klein LBD for $20 marked down from $250. ;) Also the clearence racks at Banana Republic are hit-or-miss but, if you see something you like and it's not in your size, they can do a search to find the nearest store that does have it and how many.
If I were you I'd go out and have some fun hunting TJMaxx, Ross, Banana, JCP, Dillards, Windsor, ALL of them and just try stuff on because you can. When you don't have a lot of money, it's fun to run all over creation pretending you do and finding the best deal to boot. ;) It's the bff's and my favorite pastime!
